Are you an Atheist, Agnostic, Humanist or Free Thinker ?

October 7, 2007 · Leave a Comment

I neither reject the possibility of God’s existence nor have a religion, because I do not believe in contemporary religions. I do not buy their stories because their pictures just do not add up, not even close.

First of all, God is human being’s concept. I do not think other animals have the concept of God.

To me, God is perfect, flawless (error free), otherwise he can not be the “God”. So we would not listen God says: “Oops, Sorry !” I think this is a reasonable assumption, and universal accepted one and therefore anything contradict to this assumption can not be the “God”. It is just that simple.

So far, I can not find anything not contradict to this assumption. As the matter of fact their stories do not even consistence. However, it is not hard to find a religious person to argue with you. I would like to tell them that, “God does not need us to argue about his existence or identity, if God can not self-evidence himself, he is not God”

Unfortunately, human beings are very good at fixing bugs, just like programmers do. But, why don’t they think why there are bugs in the first place? Nevertheless, they are not very good programmers neither; they should learn the UNIX principle which is “KISS”. It stands for “Keep It Simple Stupid”.

I talked to a few intelligent religious close friends. We argued in a logical fashion, but they find no way out and finally they admitted that they do not use pure reasoning to their religion but also personal subjection, and feelings.

From my understanding, when anything involve human subjectivity and emotions, it becomes both complicated and complex. It is not hard to cite examples, Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the differences between Roman Catholic Church and Christian Church,…etc. Don’t they read the same bible, but interpreted differently, How come? Answer is “human being”. It seems like God having trouble in teaching us how to read.

Well, I am too dumb to understand all those, so I think I better find my own way. Nevertheless, I do not object people to be religious. They have their own right to chose whatever their belief as long as they do not intervene others. In fact, I witness a lot of benefits to be a religious person. Despite the issue about their God is truth or not, they usually are more easy to find peace and solution. Here is how we manage things differently. When there is an unsolvable problem, for them, they will hand it to God. God is their faith. For me, since the problem is unsolvable, just drop it. Afterall, we all humans.
